Karl W. Gustavson, B.A., B. Arch., MAIBC, MRAIC, LEEDap
The firm’s principal, Karl W. Gustavson, established his own firm in 1985 to focus his experience on projects that required a sensitive approach to design while recognizing the realities of the site, localized community context and budgets.
His portfolio of projects includes work in residential care, heritage restoration, multiple residential, commercial, custom residential and resort developments. Mr. Gustavson has traveled extensively throughout the world bringing to his projects a depth of experience that continues to add to the success of his designs.

Dan and Karl have worked on many projects over the years and Dan has become a major component of the success of the firm and its vision.
With Dan’s familiarity with LEED (specifically LEED for new neighborhoods, homes and new construction) and on-going coursework with the “Living Building” program for professionals designing advanced green buildings (beyond LEED) Dan has received numerous awards and media attention.

- 1990 - professional degree in architecture from The University of British Columbia. Scholarships from the provincial government, and from the Architectural Institute of BC.
- 1986 - Bachelor of Arts from UBC majoring in architectural history/theory. Scholarships from the provincial government.
